This comprehensive First Aid training course is delivered face-to-face and is designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond confidently in emergency situations. Delivered as a single course, this training includes three nationally recognised units:
Whether you need a first aid certificate for work, industry compliance, or personal preparedness, this course meets the requirements of most workplaces, including construction, education, hospitality, and community services.
Training is delivered face-to-face at our Belmont or Naval Base facility, with hands-on scenarios and guidance from qualified trainers. This course includes both CPR and general first aid training in one day, with all assessments conducted on site.
Upon successful completion of the HLTAID0011 – Provide First Aid course, participants will achieve a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment issued by KI Training and Assessing.
The Statement will include:
HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID010 – Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID011 – Provide first aid

These units are delivered as a combined one-day course and are valid for workplace and industry requirements across Australia. CPR (HLTAID009) is generally recommended to be refreshed every 12 months, while the full first aid units (HLTAID010/011) are typically renewed every 3 years, depending on workplace policy.

The CTF provides funding support for training of eligible workers in the construction industry. We acknowledge the support of the CTF in reducing the costs of training for eligible workers.

There are no pre-requisites for this training.
Participants are to wear enclosed shoes, long sleeve shirt and long pants for this training.
Physical Requirements: You must be physically able to perform uninterrupted CPR on the floor for at least 2 minutes.
Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements: Participants must be able to read, write and understand English.Completion of the LLN assessment is required prior to confirmation of the booking.
Minimum Age: 18 years (recommended minimum due to physical requirements).
Individuals holding a Student Visa are not eligible to enrol in or attend the course as KITA is not a registered CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students).

This course covers all three units as a cluster, allowing participants to gain complete first aid skills and certification efficiently. All content is aligned with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and workplace safety requirements.
You will learn how to:
HLTAID009 – Provide CPR
Recognise and respond to an unresponsive casualty.
Perform adult and child CPR using DRSABCD protocol.
Use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Follow ARC-recommended handover procedures.
HLTAID010 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
Identify signs of medical emergencies.
Apply basic first aid principles in time-critical situations.
Follow infection control procedures.
Use communication systems to seek assistance.
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
Respond to a wide range of injuries and illnesses.
Control bleeding, treat burns, fractures and soft tissue injuries.
Manage asthma, anaphylaxis, and shock.
Follow site protocols for emergency response and incident reporting.
Assessments include practical demonstrations (e.g. CPR on a manikin) and a short theory component.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment Requirement
To ensure prospective students have the necessary LLN skills to successfully undertake their chosen training, it is a mandatory requirement to complete an LLN assessment prior to booking confirmation.
Verification of Competency (VOC) is a method of assessment that assists employers to meet their Duty of Care obligations to ensure staff are competent to operate equipment.
