The CPCCDE4008 – Supervise asbestos removal course is designed for workers who are responsible for overseeing bonded and/or friable asbestos removal tasks on a job site. This training is a legal requirement for those supervising asbestos removal under WorkSafe WA.
Delivered face-to-face by industry-experienced trainers in Belmont, this nationally recognised course ensures you can lead safe, compliant asbestos removal projects—from planning and documentation through to completion and clearance.

This unit of competency provides the knowledge and skills to supervise licensed asbestos removal work in accordance with Safe Work Australia’s Model Code of Practice and WorkSafe WA legislation.
Training covers:
Site preparation and compliance documentation:
Learn how to review asbestos control plans, site registers, and risk assessments before removal begins.
Supervision of safe asbestos removal:
Monitor removal workers to ensure PPE, containment methods, and tools are used safely and correctly for both bonded and friable asbestos materials.
Worksite compliance and safety monitoring:
Oversee work area signage, barricades, and decontamination procedures to minimise asbestos fibre release and protect surrounding areas.
Clearance inspections and reporting:
Supervise final checks and documentation, including air monitoring and waste management, to ensure safe project completion.
Assessment includes written tasks and practical simulations that demonstrate your ability to supervise asbestos removal teams in real job scenarios.
Our training prioritises hands-on, real-world experience while integrating essential theory, allowing participants to develop skills effectively without relying heavily on a traditional classroom setting.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment Requirement
To ensure prospective students have the necessary LLN skills to successfully undertake their chosen training, it is a mandatory requirement to complete an LLN assessment prior to booking confirmation.

Training Outcome
Upon successful completion of the CPCCDE4008 – Supervise asbestos removal course, participants will achieve a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment issued by KI Training and Assessing.
Participants will receive:
- A digital copy of the Statement of Attainment, which will be emailed to them either on the day of course completion or the following business day.
This course meets the competency requirements for anyone nominated as a supervisor for a licensed asbestos removal business in Western Australia. It is mandatory for supervising Class A (friable) and Class B (non-friable) asbestos removal works.
Upon completion, participants will be qualified to supervise teams who remove asbestos, ensuring that all safety, compliance, and documentation processes are correctly followed throughout the project.
Course Entry Requirements
Pre-requisites: Participants must have already completed: CPCCDE3014 – Remove non-friable asbestos, and or CPCCDE3015 – Remove friable asbestos (if supervising Class A work).
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): To enter our workshop, participants are required to wear steel-capped boots, long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Hardhats can be provided if you can not bring your own.
All asbestos-specific PPE (coveralls, gloves, respirator masks) is provided on the day.
Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements: Participants must possess adequate LLN skills to interpret safety procedures and documentation. Completion of the LLN assessment is required prior to confirmation of the booking.
Minimum Age: 18 years or over.
